Class 5, Assignment 5

I believe "photoshopping" and the emergence of mass media has created a warped view of real body image to men and women, especially teens. It has instilled a mentality to have unrealistic expectations for appearance and when that expectation is not met, it can have a detrimental effects on both self esteem and personal identity.

The above video highlights the negative effect on teens that this "photoshopping" culture can have.

I agree with your point. The prevalence of photoshopping has a dire effect on teens but at this point it is an inescapable problem and we must get to the root of it, which is creating healthy mentalities, self esteem, and living habits to help address this issue.

Great shout out and example with cat fishing. I feel like that aspect of creating different personas through photoshopping and such translates into the cat fish like scenarios due to an altered sense of self esteem.
